Transglobal Inland Container Services starts operations

Transglobal Inland Container Services located at Thrissur, Kerala, has sent the first consignment of food products to the International Container Transhipment Terminal, Vallarpadam, The Hindu Business Line reports.
The export consignment belonging to Global Exporter was loaded on to the vessel, MV.Rajiv Gandhi at ICTT.
Quality services
Announcing the opening of the ICD, Mr M.A. Nazer, Chairman, Transglobal, said that this new facility would offer excellent quality services for handling and temporary storage of import and export bound containers.
Their 50,000 sq feet warehousing capacity is equipped with modern handling system of fork lifts and reach stackers, while providing customer friendly environment and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems network at the premises, he added. A separate facility of office space is also provided for steamer agents.
Mr. Nazer also said that they had established a single window system that includes all customs formalities inside ICD which would ensure smooth transition at ICTT Vallarpadam. The International Container Terminal will get further strength and support from this ICD facility, making trade and transport fast and safe. He requested the trade to utilise this opportunity. Mr N.S. Ramachandran, CEO, Transglobal, said that the ICD built at Rs 55 crore is being promoted as a total logistics operator hub. The ICD has specialised in transport, warehousing and network operations, providing top class and comprehensive services — all under one roof.
Skilled team
The ICD operations of the group is being supported by a full-fledged skilled team of dedicated people with the latest infrastructure facilities. With the commencement of ICTT operations at Vallarpadam, the group has already received invitations from various international companies to join hands for international shipping and logistics support, Mr Ramachandran said.
