Petrobras charters six chemical/product tankers

In the charter market, Petrobras has reportedly taken six chemical/product tankers on period timecharters, Tanker Operator reports.
According to brokers' reports, Tsakos Energy Navigations’(TEN) 53,100 dwt ‘Ajax’ was fixed for five years at $15,000 per day, TEN’s 39,400 dwt ‘Andromeda’ for two years at $14,000 per day and TEN’s 53,100 dwt ‘Artemis’ for two years at $14,000 per day.
In addition, the Brazilian state-owned oil major fixed the 45,900 dwt ‘Arcadia 1’, the 47,500 dwt ‘FSL Singapore’ and the 47,200 dwt ‘Ludovica’ each for three years at $14,000 per day.
Meanwhile, BP Shipping was reported to have taken the Suezmax ‘Maran Poseidon’ for 12 months at $16,000 per day.
Vessels leaving the fleet, included Teekay’s 1990-built Aframax 'Navajo Spirit' reported sold to Indian breakers for $497.5 ldt and the 1990-built 84,040 dwt ‘Amberjack’ ex ‘Zaphon’ to Pakistani breakers on private terms.
