ZIM launches a new procurement organization as part of the strategic plan

Zim announced that as part of its comprehensive strategic plan, it will restructure its global procurement activities by creating a new, best-in-class procurement framework. Headed by Mr. David Arbel as Chief Procurement Officer, it will oversee all procurement at a corporate level, Port2Port reports.
The new organization will interact with all relevant stakeholders, and will be responsible, among other things, to the procurement of Fuel, Vessel Chartering, Terminals and Feeding.
David Arbel Chief Procurement Officer: "The launching of this new body marks a significant organizational change, enabling Zim to substantially increase efficiency while introducing global best-practice standards.
The new structure will also lead to a new level of customer service and value for money vis-à-vis suppliers. The new Procurement Organization is part of the company’s constant efforts to maximize efficiency and achieve performance excellence in all areas of its activity, to the mutual benefit of customers, stakeholders and business partners alike".
