Aegean starts partnership with China Changjiang
Greece-based marine fuels supplier Aegean Marine Petroleum has partnered with China Changjiang Bunker (Sinopec) to enter the China market, Seatrade Asia online reports. The strategic alliance is expected to become effective during the second quarter of 2012 upon completion of final documentation, enabling Aegean to meet the marine fuel needs of its customers in China.
China Changjiang, jointly owned by state-owned refiner Sinopec and shipping firm Sinotrans&CSC, will provide marine fuel services on behalf of Aegean's customers in ports including all Changjiang river ports and certain coastal ports such as Nanjing, Zhejiang, Yangzhou, Taizhou, Changzhou, Jiangyin, Nantong, Changshu, Zhangjiagang, Taicang, Shanghai (excluding Yangshan), Ningbo, Tianjin, Qingdao, Dalian and others.
Aegean will be responsible for the supply and delivery of marine fuels to China Changjiang's customers in its network currently covering 19 countries throughout North America, South America, Central America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
