Cargo traffic at JSC Murmansk Marine Fishing Port (MMFP) in January-March 2012 decreased by 15 percent from the same period of 2011, to 88,600 tons. The Port Authority statistics said. Fish product volumes for the period shrank by 20%.
In March, the port handled 42,500 tons of cargo, including 35,000 tons of fish.
Murmansk Marine Fishing Port specializes in handling cargo from fishing boats, mother ships and reefer vessels. The enterprise is 100% owned by Russian government through the Federal Agency for Federal Property Management and Russia’s Federal Property Fund. In 2011, MMFP handled 276,300 tons of cargo.
