Cargo handling at Vladivostok Sea Fishing Port (Vladmorrybport) in January-March 2012 totaled 617,850 tons, up 25.2% over the same period of last year, the company statistics said.
The first-quarter volume of bulk cargo rose 21.7% to 228,000 tons, handling of scrap metal / metalware soared 98.1% to 61,800 tons, of imported vehicles – by 68% to 16,853 units.
Three-month containerized imports / exports surged by 40% to 30,103 TEUs.
In the reporting period, the port handled 216 ships, a 31-percent growth from Q1, 2011 and 6,921 railcars (+33.5%).
In March, the port’s terminals transshipped 234,400 tons of different cargoes (+46.8%).
OJSC Vladivostok Sea Fishing Port operates a universal transshipment complex on the southern shore of Zolotoy Rog Bay. The port’s 2-km-long waterfront with10 berths, 9 km of harbor rail tracks, and three locomotives enables the stevedore to work around the clock for unloading / loading of cargoes. In 2011, cargo throughput at Vladmorrybport rose 32.3 percent year-over-year to 2.3 million tons.
