Year-to-date, coal volume exported through the Ust-Luga-based Rosterminalugol terminal in January-March 2012 totaled 3 million tons, the Company said on Friday.
On April 12, the three millionth ton of coal was loaded onto the M/V Zagreb. In 2011, the same volume was handled by Rosterminalugol in mid-May.
JSC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at Port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s projected annual capacity is 8 million tons of coal. Rosterminalugol specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal. The company also provides insurance services for goods and property, the risks of transactions at Ust-Luga port. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters and depth of 14 meters. The terminal can handle vessels with length of 240 m and breadth of 32.2 m. In 2010, coal exports from the terminal rose nearly 6% to 7.5 million tons.
