Damen Shiprepair Brest secures first order
Damen Shiprepair Brest received its first order at its newly acquired shipyard — formerly known as Sobrena Yard — in France, BreakBulk reports.
The order was placed by the French offshore and subsea service provider Bourbon Offshore Surf for the Alcyon, one of Bourbon’s aAnchor handling tug supply vessels.
The docking consists of a 30-years survey, a complete external paint program, repairs of tank coatings and major steel renewal in the fore peak area.
Damen Shiprepair Brest has three graven dry-docks and sufficient repair berths. The biggest dry-dock measures 420 x 80 meters and is one of the biggest in Europe, the company said in a statement.
