After the government's meeting on Monday, the minister said that the visit to Oslo was important. According to Sekmokas, Norway supports Lithuania's steps in the electricity sector, the country joining the market of the North countries' electricity network and its LNG terminal project.
Sekmokas said that Statoil endorses the liberalization of Lithuanian oil products' supplies and storage.
"They have also said to be interested in our LNG terminal and said there is an actual possibility for cooperation. Therefore, as we can see, the meetings that took place were really successful; and further the company will be working directly with Statoil in order to achieve further agreements," Sekmokas said.
Statoil is one of the major gas exporters in the world and its share in the European gas market is almost equal to one of Gazprom.
