Rosneftflot CEO Andrew Aprelenko steps down

Andrew Aprelenko resigns as CEO of JSC Rosnefteflot (formerly "Far East Marine Company», FEMCO). He has held the post since 1998 when the company was founded, Rosnefteflot press service said.

Prior to 1998 Andrei Aprelenko held executive positions in JSC Sakhalin Shipping Company. For many years under his management the company was the largest operator of offshore drilling rigs and marine vessels engaged in Sakhalin offshore oil and gas fields development, as well as offshore areas in Indian and Atlantic oceans.

From 1998 to 2004, Far East Marine Company has gained a great experience in offshore drilling and operation of specialized offshore supply vessels, providing ranged services on the shelf. In 2001-2005 the FEMCO was working in the Persian Gulf on exploratory drilling in the Iranian sector of the Gulf.

In 2005, after the sale of offshore drilling rigs and specialized fleet, the company headquarters moved to Moscow. The Company decided to focus of terminal business. FEMCO successfully implemented a large-scale project in the Kola Bay for export oil transshipment terminal – the 360,000DWT FSO Belokamenka. To date, the FSO Belokamenka is Russia's largest floating oil storage facility.

Rosnefteflot has been active in organizing the construction of new vessels, both for Rosneft and for other companies. For 14 years, under the supervision of Rosnefteflot the Russian and foreign shipyards have built 25 vessels for various purposes.

At present Rosnefteflot operates 27 vessels of various classes. In 2011, the company has successfully implemented projects for new bunkering tankers in the ports of Murmansk and Tuapse.

As of now, Rosnefteflot has become one of the largest companies in Russia, providing towing services, with branches network in Murmansk, Nakhodka, St. Petersburg, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Tuapse and Ust-Luga.
