ZNT Yard launches eighth dive boat Vodolaz Sazonov

ZNT Yard launched on April 24, 2012 a Diving Support Vessel of A160 Project (No. 809) named Vodoloaz Sazonov (Diver Sazonov). This is the eighth boat of the project funded through the federal target program "Development of Transport System of Russia (2010-2015),” the shipbuilding firm said Tuesday.

The serial inshore diving boats were ordered by Rosmorechflot (the Federal supervising agency for river and maritime transport) as a public customer and the customer FSI State Contracting Authority for Maritime Transport Development Programs. The boats will be handed over to Gosmorspassluzhba of Russia, the state marine search and rescue service.

The first seven vessels of the project have been delivered to the customer and will be operated in the ports of St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Novorossiysk, Astrakhan, Vladivostok and Korsakov.
The A160 project was designed in 2008 by the shipyard in conjunction with Agat Design Bureau Ltd.

The boat is intended for diving engineering operations at 60-m depths with sea swells up to 4 meters, to participate in rescue and salvage operations, inspection of the harbor seabed, ship wrecks, underwater hulls of vessels and waterworks.

The shipyard nears completion of two more DSVs, which are scheduled for delivery in the fall of 2012.

Nizhny Novgorod region-based ZNT Yard (Zavod Nozhegorodsky Teplokhod) specializes primarily in the construction of buoy tenders, dive boats, harbor tugs and other workboats, as well as harbor equipment and marine engineering products.
