Lithuania is set to build three intermodal terminals in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipeda. The construction of the Vilnius terminal comprising 400 ha is scheduled to begin in September, October this year, Saulius Stasiunas, Deputy Director for Development of the Freight Transportation Directorate of Lithuanian Railways said.
The intermodal facilities project worth EUR 100 million is expected to be implemented in 2013.
The terminal in Kaunas (200 hectares) is scheduled for commissioning in late 2013, the Klaipeda facility (140 hectares) - after 2013.
