German ports see potential in Russia
Bremenports and the Seaports of Niedersachsen say that Russia remains an attractive growth market, Heavy Lift & PFI reports.
“The prospects are especially good for those groups of cargo that are relevant for the ports of Bremen,” commented Michael Skiba, marketing manager at Bremenports. This applies in particular to the ro-ro and automotive sectors and to project cargo, raw materials and fuels.
“In view of the anticipated continuing economic growth and the consequent increase in demand for industrial and consumer goods in Russia and its neighbouring countries, it is extremely important for the ports of Bremen to present their port-related logistics services here,” added Skiba.
The two port organisations recently attended to the TransRussia conference and exhibition in Moscow and a delighted Andreas Bullwinkel, director of the Seaports of Niedersachsen said: "We know of specific business transactions that have been made during the fair."
