Rosterminalugol coal traffic reaches 4 million tons
Year-to-date, coal volume exported through the Ust-Luga-based Rosterminalugol terminal has totaled 4 million tons. The four-millionth ton was loaded today, May 5th, onto the dry bulk carrier AndreA D’amato. A year ago the same volume was handled at the terminal only on June 7th, the Company said on Saturday.
JSC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at Port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s projected annual capacity is 8 million tons of coal. Rosterminalugol specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal. The company also provides insurance services for goods and property, the risks of transactions at Ust-Luga port. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters and depth of 14 meters. The terminal can handle vessels with length of 240 m and breadth of 32.2 m. In 2011, coal exports from the terminal surged 45.3% year-over-year to 10.9 million tons.
