Port Fleet’s tugs to escort 4th FSO to outer harbor of St. Petersburg
In the next two days, tugboats of Port Fleet will escort the 112,900dwt V8 STEALTH, the Floating Storage and Offloading Vessel (FSO) to anchorage 5A (off Kronstadt), the towing company told PortNews.
This is the fourth FSO to be deployed at the outer anchorage of the port of St. Petersburg. The first FSO unit - the 167,000dwt tanker PRISCO Mizar (owner SASCO) was deployed by Port Fleet’s tugs at the same location on May 5th.
The second and third tankers (Novoship’s NS Burgas, NS Bravo) were installed on 8-9 May.
All four FSOs will be operated in the 2012 navigation by In-Transit (the company carries out offshore transshipment of oil products in Big Port St. Petersburg). The units are utilized for exports of fuel oil and vacuum gas oil (VGO), transported by river tankers of capacity of 5,000 tons through the Volga-Balt system from refineries located along the Russian inland waterways.
The FSOs is expected to receive first oil product cargo on May 20, 2012.
