Customs bans Northern Shipping’s transit vessel to refuel in Baltiisk
The Baltiysk Customs authorities did not permit the Johann Mahmastal (Russia flag, owner Northern Shipping Company), which was on international transit voyage, to replenish the stock, take bunker fuel in the waters of the Russian port of Baltiysk, the ship’s agent told PortNews.
The officers of Customs posts "Kaliningrad Energetichesky" and "Baltiysk" did not give permission to "Gazpromneft Marine Bunker" (marine fuel supplier) for a bunkering operation and its bunkering ship was not allowed at the customs control zone (the port of Baltiysk harbor).
As a result, the Russian shipping company was not able to buy ship’s stores at the Russian port needed for operation. This also has also led to unnecessary dwell time and breach of contract between Gazpromneft Marine Bunker and the ship owner - Northern Shipping Company. Today, the Johann Mahmastal left the harbor without bunker fuel to Sweden, the shipping agent said.
