Indonesia’s Antam sees 20% drop in nickel ore supplies in H2 due to export ban
Indonesia’s second largest nickel ore producer Aneka Tambang (Antam) has been reported as saying taxes and restrictions on ore shipments may cut supplies by as much as 20% in the second half of 2012 from a year earlier, Seatrade Asia Online reports.
A senior official at Antam said: “The tax is significant for private mines”, adding that the company itself will probably be able to absorb part of the rise in tax costs and expects a “maximum 5% drop” in its own shipments.
