Moscow is prepared to participate actively in international efforts to combat piracy off Somalia.
"Russia sees the UN Security Council's new resolution as a serious step to intensify efforts to fight piracy off Somalia, and wants to further actively participate in the work the world community has been doing in this direction," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday according to Interfax.
