MOL’s TraPac terminal to open at JAXPORT in January

MOL's TraPac is putting the finishing touches on its new 158-acre terminal at the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT), which is scheduled to open on January 12th, 2009.
JAXPORT offers one of the most efficient shipping and intermodal combinations in the South Atlantic, with easy access to highways I-10, I-75 and I-95, and direct access to Class I Railroads, CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern, as well as regional carrier, Florida East Coast Railroad.
JAXPORT's intermodal trucking capabilities will allow shippers to reach more than 60% of the US population within 24 hours, and its location affords shorter transit times between the US and Panama.
TraPac's post-Panamax container handling systems have an annual capacity of 800,000 TEU.
Nearly fifty major distribution centres are located near JAXPORT, with another 17,000 acres available for building and expansion capacity.
