Vietnam Ocean Shipping JSC (Vosco) began transporting cargo containers on a new route from Doan Xa Port in Hai Phong to Tan Thuan Port in Ho Chi Minh City and back on December 2, Thai News Service reported.
Vosco expects the new route would boost competition and increase the value of its trademark.
The company earned US$153.6 million in the first 11 months of this year, 15 percent higher than its yearly plan in 2008.
