According to Mr. Kekhiopulo, a number of control checks will be held at enterprises inspected this autumn in order to see what measures have been undertaken to eliminate earlier detected violations. If the companies fail to improve they will be brought to administrative responsibility again. In case gross violations are found a company’s activities may be suspended for up to 90 days.
In autumn 2008, Petersburg Transport Prosecutor’s Office jointly with other authorities inspected 11 enterprises of over 40 companies handling oil products within water area of Big Port of St. Petersburg. It resulted in 9 recommendations to eliminate violations, 6 warnings to companies’ heads, 8 administrative cases. Apart from these, 2 criminal cases were initiated on "illegal business practices resulting in deriving especially large revenue" (part 2 of article171 of the RF Criminal Code). Criminal proceedings were initiated against Director Generals of Shipoil LLC and Faetom-Aero LLC.
