First Container Terminal (FCT, St. Petersburg) jointly with RosMorPort FSUE plan to reconstruct the berth No 88 for container carriers in 2009 and to commence construction of a new berth for icebreakers in the Big Port of St. Petersburg, PortNews IAA learnt from Andrei Bogdanov, FCT Commercial Director.
According to Mr. Bogdanov, financing is to be based on public-private partnership. RosMorPort FSUE and FCT CJSC have already planned financing of this project for 2009. The company does not disclose the volume of financing.
Mr. Bogdanov says some RUR 250 million have been invested in reconstruction of the terminal’s berth within three years. In 2009-2010 similar volumes are to be invested for the same purposes.
