In January-November 2008, Port Vanino OJSC handled 6.120 million tonnes of cargo (+3.4%, year-on-year), the company reports. In November the port handled 470,700 tonnes of cargo (-4%, year-on-year).
In the 11-month period transshipment of import cargo grew by 36.4%, year-on-year, to 1.360 million tonnes including 1.066.5 million tonnes of alumina (+11.4 %), oil coke – 187,000 tonnes (against 5,300 tonnes in 2007), machines and equipment - 27,100 tonnes (+39.7%), containerized cargo - 26,400 tonnes (up 1.6 times).
In January-November, Port Vanino OJSC handled 2.779.2 million tonnes of export cargo (95.7% against the level of the previous year) including 1.309.6 million tonnes of timber (78.4%), 604,900 tonnes of coal (114.4 %), 674,600 tonnes of nonferrous metal (135.7 %), 124,100 tonnes of ferrous metal (82.5 %).
Shipment of coastal trade cargo totaled 346,700 tonnes (+3.2 %). Vanino-Kholmsk ferry service carried 1.634.1 million tonnes of cargo (97.1% against the level of 2007). In November the throughput of the ferry service grew by 1.9 %, year-on-year, to 136,200 tonnes.
In January-November the port handled 1,629 vessels (+3.4%).
