Gov't to change natural monopoly tariffs flexibly

The Russian government will be revising power, natural gas, and rail transportation tariffs promptly, depending on the situation on the market, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov told journalists today according to RBC. Commenting on reports in the media that the Economy Ministry had suggested lowering the upper limit for power, gas, and railway tariffs, he noted that the government was still discussing the matter, and that there were in fact several tariff proposals. Shuvalov stressed that a final decision would be made in the near future, however. Meanwhile, the government will react very flexibly to any changes on the market, he said.
