Throughput of Liepaja port up 6.3% to 3.903 mln t in Jan-Nov 08

In January-November 2008, the port of Liepaja handled 3.903 million tonnes o cargo (+6.3%, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports.

According to Ivo Kolins, expert of Liepaja Special Economic Zone, transshipment of loose dry cargo totaled 1.73 mln t (+0.1%) including 1.312 mln t of grain.

In the reported period, transshipment of general cargo amounted to 1.32 mln t (+8.9%), liquid bulk cargo – 849,000 tonnes (+16.1%) including 61,000 tonnes of crude (+45.1%) and 482,000 tonnes of oil products.
