In the first eleven months of this year, China imported 38.11 million tons of coal, down 18.4% from a year earlier.
Meanwhile, China's coal exports in the Jan.-Nov. period amounted to 40.97 million tons, representing a year-on-year decrease of 13.7%.
In November alone, the coal export of China amounted to 2.69 million tons.
The decrease of coal export and import in the first eleven months of this year is mainly attributed to the global financial turmoil which causes the weakening of industrial demand for coal, according to analysts.
