In the first half of 2008 IFRS net profit of TransContainer amounted to RUR 1.586.174 billion (+86%, year-on-year), the company reports according to RZD-Partner. TransContainer proceeds grew by 52.8%, year-on-year, to RUR 9.145.704 bln, pre-tax profit – RUR 2.198.064 blm (+80.4%).
According to preliminary forecast, TransContainer net profit according to Russian Accounting Standard will make RUR 2.7 bln in 2008 (up 1.7 times).
TransContainer operates as a subsidiary of Russian Railways OJSC from July 2006. The company owns 47 terminals in Russia’s major freight centres, with its 17 branches covering the entire Russian railway network. Furthermore, TransContainer is the largest owner of specialized rolling stock in Russia, the CIS countries, and the Baltics: it has more than 24,000 flat wagons and more than 53,000 large-capacity containers.
