Supplies from Polish companies will account for 67% of esters and 100% of bio-ethanol for PKN Orlen in the next year, writes ELTA.
Following the announcements that were circulated across Poland and other members of the European Union (EU), the final tender for esters and bio-ethanol supplies attracted over 20 domestic and international companies. The key criteria were the price and compliance with the legal binding requirements in force in Poland.
As a result, in 2009 esters will be supplied to PKN Orlen by the following companies: Rafineria Trzebinia S.A, Wratislavia – Bio Sp. z o.o., Biopaliwa, PPHU As-Gold Sp. z o.o., Biowerk Sohland Gmbh, Biodiesel Paldiski, Verbio STS and Agropodnik a.s.. While Mazeikiu Nafta will receive esters from BioVenta and Biodiesel Paldiski, and Unipetrol – from Oleochemical, Oleofin, and Primagra.
At the same time, PHP Wawrzyniak, Podlaskie Gorzelnie Surwin Sp. z o.o., Destylacje Polskie Sp. z o.o., and UNI-MALEW Sp. z o.o. will provide bio-ethanol to PKN Orlen; and Mazeikiu Nafta is to receive it from Biofuture, while Unipetrol – from Alcodis.
The Orlen Group has decided that bio-ethanol will be contracted on a long-term and spot basis. Following the best offer the Polish companies will account for 100% of suppliers, however missing volumes will be procured on a spot basis in the current market environment.
