Ukraine’s Ministry of Transport and Communications has set up a unified State Port Inspectorate in the port of Nikolayev, internet newspaper of Nikolayev writes with the reference to the Ministry’s order No 1528 dated December 19.
According to the Order the Inspectorate has been set up within the framework of reorganization of Dnepro-Bugski commercial seaport through uniting it with commercial seaport of Nikolayev. The target is to improve state control of navigation safety in the area of Bugsko-Dneprovski-Lmanski canal. The Inspectorate is to be headed by the Harbour Master of Nikolayev port.
The competence of the Inspectorate covers the ports’ water areas, approach canals of sea, river and fishing ports, as well as berths, terminals and handling complexes.
