In January-November 2008, cargo turnover of the Murmansk region’s transport company grew by 5.1%, year-on-year, to 40.6 bln t-km, Murmansk statistics agency reports according to PRIME-TASS.
Cargo turnover of motor transport fell by 21.6%, year-on-year, to 307.5 mln t-km, that of maritime transport – climbed by 10.7%, year-on-year, to 26.292 bln t-km.
In the reported period, the volume of cargo carried by transport companies fell by 4.9%, year-on-year, to 34.638 million tonnes including 6.674 million tonnes carried by maritime transport (-2.9%), 400 tonnes – by air transport (+9.8%), 4.069 million tonnes by motor transport (+0.4%).
