CSX Intermodal expands Orlando services

CSX Intermodal Inc is expanding services in Florida beginning with a wider array of shipping options, reports the Jackson Business Journal.
Options include trailer and container service to Orlando and private trailers owned or leased by other companies from Atlanta to Orlando. Expanded gate deadlines for shipping schedules from the western gateway of Memphis to Orlando also are now available.
"We are proud to create additional opportunities for our customers," said CSXI president Jim Hertwig.
CSXI, a subsidiary of Jacksonville-based CSX Corp, is a stand-alone integrated intermodal company serving clients from origin to destination with its own truck and terminal operations plus a dedicated domestic container fleet, said a company release.
CSXI serves all of Florida, with company-owned terminals in Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa and shared terminals in other locations. The company is also planning to build a new terminal at Winter Haven that is expected to be ready in 2010.
