Rosterminalugol coal throughput reaches 10 mln tons
Year-to-date coal shipments through the Ust-Luga-based Rosterminalugol terminal have totaled 10 million tons. The ten-millionth ton was loaded onto the ITB Alexander K + Multibrava today, September 17th. In September 2011, the facility handled 8 million tons.
JSC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at Port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s projected annual capacity is 8 million tons of coal. Rosterminalugol specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal. The company also provides insurance services for goods and property, the risks of transactions at Ust-Luga port. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters and depth of 14 meters. The terminal can handle vessels with length of 240 m and breadth of 32.2 m. In 2011, coal exports via the terminal surged 45.3% year-over-year to 10.9 million tons.
