Nordic Yards to deliver HVDC BorWin2 by the end of 2012
Germany Nordic Yards plans to deliver the 800-MW HVDC BorWin beta, the first of four offshore converter platforms being constructed for Seimens Energy, by the end of 2012, head of Nordic Yards in Russia Vladimir Bazhenov told PortNews. The platform construction commenced in spring 2011.
The second platform HVDC HelWin alpha is scheduled for delivery in early 2013. The third facility SylWin alpha, the largest of four platforms being built at Nordic Yards in Wismar, will be delivered in the second half of 2014 to Siemens Energy and the end customer, the transmission grid operator TenneT.
Nordic Yards has two production locations - Warnemünde and Wismar. The Company specializes in the construction of offshore platforms, ice-class vessels, ferries and passenger ships.
