Actually, this container, Bazhenov said, is an ice-breaker, which can be operated 10 months a year on the Northern Sea Route.
Besides, the company has developed the project of a 13MW coal carrier, designed for coal transportation in northern latitudes. Nordic Yards sees Russian mining companies as potential buyers of this type of vessel.
Nordic Yards has two production locations in Germany - Rostock-Warnemünde and Wismar. The company specializes in the construction of offshore platforms, ice-class vessels, ferries and passenger ships.
