Cosco eyes Arctic possibilities

With the constant thawing of the Arctic China’s largest maritime conglomerate has made clear its intentions to analyse shipping possibilities in the far north, SinoShipNews reports. Cosco Group is looking at shortening shipping times between Asia and Europe by establishing a joint research group with Iceland on Arctic shipping. This comes after a record summer thaw in the Arctic this year and also follows hot on the heels of news of China’s first dedicated Arctic exploratory ship order.
