DSIC bags boxship orders
The deal struck between China International Marine Containers (CIMC) and France’s CMA CGM for four 9,200 teu ships reported here on Monday to be built at STX Dalian in a contract worth $330m is only 40% of the entire contract it has emerged. CIMC, the world’s largest container manufacturer, is also ordering six identical 9,200 teu ships at state-run Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co, also for charter to CMA CGM. The contract is expected to be signed soon, SinoShipNews reports.
