Port Arkhangelsk throughput rises 26 percent
Cargo traffic at the Port of Arkhangelsk in January-September 2012 surged 26% year-on-year to 4,362,600 tons, the Port Authority said.
Nine-month volume of imports rose 14.9% to 2,512,300 tons, exports jumped by 36.8% to 2,387,800 tons. Short sea traffic soared 44.9% to 1,850,300 tons.
Coal exports increased by 39.4% to 279,900 tons, shipment of oil products - by 56.9%, to 1,605,100 tons, while timber cargo volume fell 8.1% from a year earlier, to 351,500 tons.
