China's Shanghai port posted the highest monthly container throughput this year-to-date in September at 2.91m teu, an increase of 5.4% year-on-year, Seatrade Asia online reports.
The world's busiest container port also beat its own figures in August of 2.61m teu, according to data from Shanghai International Port (Group).
In the first nine months of this year, Shanghai handled a total of 24.22m teu of boxes, up from 23.8m teu in the same period of last year.
