Hanjin Shipping, Evergreen Line to cut capacity
Hanjin Shipping and Evergreen Line are reducing capacity on the China-Europe service for the fourth quarter in response to the seasonal drop in demand in the trade route, Seatrade Asia online reports.
The combination of China-UK Express (CUS) for Hanjin Shipping and China-Europe-Mediterranean (CEM) for Evergreen Line is a weekly joint service. Among 13 voyages scheduled from October to December, the two companies have decided to skip three voyages, which represent a 23% capacity reduction in total.
Hanjin Shipping and Evergreen Line commented they are considering further capacity reduction on this service depending on market demand and supply situation.
