Cargo ship Neva-Leader-2 completed sea trials (photo)
The dry bulker carrier Neva-Leader-2 of Project RSD49 has successfully completed her shipyard’s sea trials, the shipbuilding company’s press release said.
Nevsky Shipyard is executing a contract for a series of ten self-propelled dry cargo ships of 7150DWT of Project RSD49 for North Western Shipping Company. The project was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau-Design-SPb. Overall, the NW Shipping ordered 12 vessels of RSD49 project. Two ships to be built at Astrakhan-based Lotus Shipyard. The lead ship of the series M/V Neva-Leader-1 was floated out in May. The first ship's dock-side trials will be completed in the fall of 2012.
Ship’s main characteristics: sea / river draft – 4.70m / 3.60m, sea / river DWT – 7150t / 4520t; length overall - 139.95 m, breadth overall - 16.70 m, depth - 6.00 m; cargo holds capacity - 10,920 cbm.
