St. Petersburg may export marine and river vessels to Uruguay
St. Petersburg could supply sea-going and river vessels to Uruguay, said St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko who met on October 25, 2012 with a delegation of Uruguay senators led by Alberto Couriel.
"St. Petersburg is ready to offer the Uruguayan side the state-of-the-art design and equipment for the construction of medium and small hydropower stations. We are also willing to discuss the possibility of supply to Uruguay sea-going and river vessels - cost-efficient and effective in operation," the governor’s press office quoted Georgy Poltavchenko as saying.
The governor also noted the need to actively develop tourism, especially after the decision to cancel the visa regime between Russia and Uruguay. These issues will be the main subjects of discussion during the visit of the delegation of St. Petersburg in Uruguay in 2013.
The Uruguay delegation head Alberto Couriell said that his country is interested in the development not only in economic relations, but the cultural ties with St. Petersburg and Russia as well.
