Cost of low-sulphur fuel oils being sold in the ports of Europe in the period from 2003 to 2005, by estimates of Robin Mitch the expert of Marine and Energy Consulting Limited, amounted to $31 per ton. It was reported by a correspondent of the PortNews Information Agency from the Trade and Bunkering conference in the southern region. The margin for fuel oil with sulfur content being equal to 1.5 % and 3.5 % is $23 per ton. Currently oil-sulphur fuel oil is used by almost 60 ports of the world, among which there are St.-Petersburg, Murmansk, Primorsk, Vysotsk, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Singapore, Shanghai and some other ports of Europe, Asia, Africa and America.
