Latvian railway plans 10% raise of tariffs from January 2007

Latvijas dzelzcels (Latvian Railway) plans to raise tariffs for railway transportation by 10% (average) from January 2007, LR's PR department reports according to RZD-Partner. The increase is to depend on cargo type and distance of transportation. Last year decrease was 17%. LR changes tariff policy every year. Current tariff increase is based in growing costs for maintenance of infrastructure, production costs and inflation.
