IFO bunker prices made gains in most ports in North America on Wednesday, Ship & Bunker data showed. South American market movements were more mixed, generally small movements, with the biggest change in the region Montevideo IFO380 dropping $23.00 to $638.00 per metric tonne (pmt).
Houston IFO380 climbed $3.00 to $601.50 per metric tonne (pmt), moving down $8.00 week-on-week, and down $2.50 from last month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) climbed $5.00 to $704.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $103.00 pmt. MGO moved up for the first time since December 3, 2012 rising $6.50 to $986.00 pmt, falling $20.00 since last Wednesday.
LA / Long Beach IFO380 gained $6.00 to $636.00 pmt, making a week-on-week change of $23.50, and down $44.00 from last month. LS380 moved up $9.50 to $740.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $104.00 pmt. MGO rose for the first time since December 4, 2012 just over a week ago, gaining $6.00 to $1001.00 pmt, down $31.00 week-on-week.
New York IFO380 moved up for the first time since December 4, 2012 rising $6.00 to $609.00 pmt, down $7.00 week-on-week, and falling $18.00 since November 12, 2012. LS380 was up $6.50 to $663.50 making the premium for the low sulfur grade $54.50 pmt. MGO was steady at $1006.00 pmt, falling $31.00 since last Wednesday.
Vancouver IFO380 dropped for a third consecutive day falling $2.50 to $630.00 pmt, $17.50 lower than last Wednesday, and up $6.50 from November 12, 2012. LS380 fell $0.50 to $899.00 making the premium for the low sulfur product $269.00 pmt. MGO slipped $8.50 to $1065.00 pmt, falling $25.00 from last week, and down $89.50 from the price three months ago.
