Prime Shipping sees 30% gain in oil product traffic
In 2012, a tanker fleet of Prime Shipping transported 1.95 million tons of petroleum products, which represents a 30-percent surge year-on-year, the Company’s official said.
Prime Shipping CEO Igor Ganin told PortNews that of the traffic volume 1.5 million tons of oil products were shipped through Russia’s inland waterways, about 450,000 tons - the seaports of Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean.
Prime Shipping tankers carried through the inland waterways petroleum products from Saratov to offshore anchorage of Kerch port. One tanker of the Company in August-November 2012 was transporting the loads on the Amur River.
Overall, during the reporting period Prime Shipping Ltd. deployed 20 tankers and five ATBs.
Samara region-based Prime Shipping Ltd. is a subsidiary of Pietro Barbaro. The shipping company was acquired by Pietro Barbaro in January 2006. The company is engaged primarily in shipping of crude oil and petroleum products.
