15 rescued from tilting cargo ship in Shanghai
Shanghai maritime rescuers saved 15 sailors from a tilting cargo ship at the mouth of the Yangtze River last night, Shanghai Daily reports.
The city's maritime rescue center received distress calls around 7:50pm yesterday from the ship as it tilted about 10 degrees to the port. Four rescue boats were dispatched to the scene.
By 9:35pm, all the crew on the cargo ship had been brought to safety, the maritime officials said. The 98-meter-long ship, carrying 4,725 tons of iron ore, came from a port in neighboring Jiangsu Province, the officials said.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
