Border Guard accepts delivery of patrol boat of Project 10410 "Svetlyak" (photo release)
After successful completion of acceptance sea trials of the acceptance certificate for border patrol boat of Project 10410 in Novorossiysk December 20, 2012 was signed on December 20 in Novorossiysk. The boat named Svetlyak (Firefly) was built at Yaroslavsky Shipyard, the shipbuilding firm press release said.
This is the eighth vessel of a series of Project 10410 littoral patrol and interceptor boats built at Yaroslavsky Shipyard for the Russian FSB Border Service. Seven boats of the series have been conducting the Boarder Service missions.
The boat project was designed at Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau for patrolling coastal and island areas, landing of border guard units, the police operations, fishery protection and rescue functions.
Svetlyak-class boats are new generation ships, which were developed in the mid-1970s to replace older types of boarder patrol vessels.
Main characteristics: length - 49.52 m, beam - 9.20 m, draft – 2.54m full load displacement - 375 tons, maximum speed - 28 knots.
