Tianjin bids to lure more owners
Tianjin is considering ways to attract more shipowners to settle in the city as well as possibly setting up its own international shipping company, SinoShipNews reports.
Hua Shaozeng, executive vice president of Tianjin WTO Consulting Service Center said there are only two large Tianjin-headquartered shipping companies providing international services at present.
Hua suggests the city increase efforts to invite more big international shipping companies to settle in Tianjin and he revealed that the city is considering setting up its own shipping company for international business as a way of ensuring the port, which has slowed growth-wise this year, keeps ticking over.
