Sovcomflot to compete for contract with Repsol - Gas Natural

By 2011 Repsol - Gas Natural plans to charter 11 new 145,000-170,000 m3 liquefied gas carriers for 20 years, Vedomosti reports according to Finmarket. About a month ago the company announced its search for partners among the largest ship owners, Nickolai Kolesnikov, Sovcomflot’s Deputy Director General told Vedomosti. The competition is to consist of two stages: six vessels are to be chartered by Repsol - Gas Natural by 2010 and five vessels – by 2011. The winners are to be named before the end of 2007. Sovcomflot has not applied yet since the company has not decided how many vessels it may propose. Nevertheless, Sovcomflot has started negotiations with Repsol - Gas Natural, Kolesnikov says.
