Tideworks implements terminal operating system at TEC, Mexico

Tideworks Technology has completed its software implementation project at SSA Mexico’s (SSAM) container terminal in Manzanillo, Mexico.SSAM’s Terminal Especializada de Contenedores (TEC), the most important and most productive single container terminal in all of Mexico, is now using Tideworks Technology’s container terminal management software suite to manage all aspects of its operations and planning, replacing Navis™ SPARCS and Navis Express.SSAM’s dedicated container terminal in Manzanillo handled some 505,300 TEU in 2005, 63% of the total container volume in the Port of Manzanillo, almost 50% of Mexico’s west coast volume, and roughly 25% of the country’s seaborne container traffic. The facility expects 2006 volumes to reach approximately 624,000 TEU.The Manzanillo terminal now manages operations using enhanced versions of Tideworks’ Mainsail Terminal Management System® (TOS), Spinnaker Planning Management System® (graphical planning for vessel, yard, and rail operations), and Traffic Control™ (electronic dispatch of work instructions and control of terminal equipment).
